I’m Julie Morrice, an artist and arts educator.
My work in glass is inspired by curiosity, craftsmanship, and the joy of making. I am drawn to the balance between precision and play, embracing both the careful planning and unexpected discoveries that come with working in this medium.
Before glass, I spent more than twenty years studying dance and creative movement. That experience continues to influence how I approach my work. I think about rhythm, and balance, and enjoy designing and building with a wide variety of materials in addition to stained glass, fused glass, and mosaics.
As both an artist and educator, I believe making art is a critical form of play for all ages. Whether I’m making my own work or teaching someone to work with glass for the first time, I hope I’ve modeled curiosity, confidence, and a willingness to experiment. My goal is to create workshops and lessons that invite people to slow down, look closely, and find beauty in thoughtful craftsmanship.
